Biography

2weiKlang is an audio designer with in-depth knowledge of music technology and music producer creating his own vison of “Dirty PsyProg” always looking to innovate and develop fresh beats and visuals.

Jan Katenkamp a.k.a. 2weiKlang was born in Bremen, Germany, in 1995. Growing up in Bremen, he had early contact with Psytrance and DnB rave parties. He started producing Psytrance and Dirty Progressive Trance in 2015.

Influenced by Dirty Progressive Trance and producers such as Necmi, Gonzi, Si-Moon, Meis and Jawgrinder he creates his own interpretation of “Dirty PsyProg”.

His musical characteristics are modulated and groovy baselines, voices from movies and video games, crazy synth shots and melodies, dubstep breakdowns and fast switching musical constructs. He started releasing his music  on soundcloud and YouTube and signed with Freakingbeats Records and Infinity-Tunes in 2017.

He also released his first EP in October 2017 (Freakingbeats Records) and his second one in January 2018 (Infinity Tunes).

In addition to his music production, he completed his studies in audio design at Deutsche Pop academy . Currently he further deepens his knowledge by studying Music Technology

In his studies, he learned how to deliver a clean mix and further developed his sound design and music writing skills.

With his electronic music production skills he brought some fresh sounds into the Deutsche Pop academy’s graduation project that was mostly influenced by non-electronic musicians. This experience formed his ability to properly integrate his electronic style into pop music productions.

With his friend Fabian Dettmer (Head of HzWd) he is hosting the Triptrackmusic YouTube channel.

Together, the two friends are invested in creating unique music videos with After Effect visualisations of Jan’s music.

In their videos every sound such as kick drum, snare, synthesizer and many more have their own visualization. The visualizations react with their opacity, size, particle form and other visual effects to the sounds. Their videos evoke the conception of the legendary video mappings that can be seen at some psytrance festivals such as the MoDem festival. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMYKo-If9uM

Jan has various experiences in live performing, mainly at private events. He also joined the Team Krass for the Electric Vibes event in January 2018. He is currently back in the studio to develop his ideas from the live performances.

There is a new EP and video on the way. Keep tuned! Triptrackmusic (18.800 Follower) is also always looking for new artist that want to release their music on YouTube with visualizations. You can contact us over Facebook.
